2.Is the use of metaphors easily understandable by the user? For instance the application name & appearance.

3.Is the application easy to navigate?

4.Is the use of terminology, controls, graphics and menus consistent throughout the application?

5.Is there a consistent look and feel to the system interface?

6.Is the relationship between controls and their actions obvious? i.e 'need help?'

7.Does the system allow for a range of user expertise? Those who are more familar with this kind of platform and software and those who aren't.

8.Is the design simple, intuitive, easy to learn and pleasing?

9.Is the system free from irrelevant, unnecessary and distracting information?

10.Are you satisfied with the amount of clicks you need to do to get to the information you want?

To test the home page 'mood input' simply enter one of the following words - I have had to do it like this to prototype because obviously its a bigger job to enter every word imaginable.

Type any of these words into the text box to find out your mood colour...

excited/calm/refreshed/in love/creative/sensual/sophisticated/
glamorous/serious/ indifferent/spiritual
or
angry/strained/aloof/emotionless/bored/idle/inhibited/weak/anxious/fraglie/
deprived/frustrated/elitist/intimidated/unsophisticated/solemn/underconfident/inferior

Just a couple of things to note that might need explaining further after a bit of feedback:

- unfortunately at present I can only test a few words in the system due to time restraints if this was actually developed every word you can think of would be in the database.

- the logo is not a link back to the home page because this is a mobile application and therefore works differently to a website.

- again due to the platform alot of the detail has had to be stripped back to accommodate for a mobile phone screen, if you were viewing this on a mobile phone it would look a lot different, there is very little space.

doom DOOM doom doom doom!
1. yes information is easy to understand and is presented in a logical format.

2. yes the metaphors are easy to understand as well as the colloquial terms (neb: as in being nosey)

3. navigation is simple but does the job.

4. the application is very consistant throughout though i think that the 'nebbers' in your area when the user is selected the photograph could be more stylized to fit in more.

5. the interface doesn't appear to change much throughout the application, meaning, yes it is consistent

6. yes, similar to many applications available this is easy to navigate and understand the relationship between the buttons and their content is fairly obvious.

7. yes, it's simplicity means that any user picking this application up will be able to use it fairly effortlessly

8. the design is easy to use, simplistic and very easy to learn however I would like to see more animation but thats just me being picky

9. yes, its straight to the point with nothing to distract your attention.

10. the amount of clicks to get to somewhere never bothers me unless it is something rediculous like 96 clicks to access a different page.

Hope this helps :)

1.Yes, really easy to use, quick to change your mood and find others.

2.It makes perfect sense to me, neb is quite a common word to be used for being nosey which is exactly what you're doing with this app.

3.Very easy to navigate, the pages all work in similar ways and it's always easy to find your way back.

4.The use of all those words is consistent throughout the application.

5.The look and feel of the application is consistent throughout all the different sections, the different colours chosen all work well with the surroundings.

6.The controls all do what they say on the tin, in short yes, very good.

7.Because of the simplicity of the layout and your friendly sounding sections any user should be able to use the app without any problems. There isn't much to go wrong so they will be confident with using it.

8.The design is easy to pick up, once you start you know exactly how to use it and what goes where.

9.Yes, it would be very quick to update on the go for busy people.

10.Everything is never more than 2 clicks away from what I can tell which is brilliant, no unnecessary confirmation screens, no silly instruction boxes before the main pages, all self explained and easy-peasy.

Inspiration is like a bus, nothing comes for ages and then all of a sudden there are three at once!
oh and the reason I haven't put in the words 'happy' and 'sad' for you to test your mood is because I wanted to show the diversity of the application!
PS: Good stuff Donna, another DA convert.

5.Is there a consistent look and feel to the system interface?
indeed there is

6.Is the relationship between controls and their actions obvious? i.e 'need help?'
yea it is obvious

7.Does the system allow for a range of user expertise? Those who are more familar with this kind of platform and software and those who aren't.
no, it is a simple layout making it easy to navigate

8.Is the design simple, intuitive, easy to learn and pleasing?
yeap

9.Is the system free from irrelevant, unnecessary and distracting information?
it is a irrelevant, unnecessary and distracting information free zone alright

10.Are you satisfied with the amount of clicks you need to do to get to the information you want?
i am
1.Is information presented in a simple, natural and logical way?

Yes. the screen size if teh interface us quite small, possible make this bigger?

2.Is the use of metaphors easily understandable by the user? For instance the application name & appearance.

Yes, neb is clever, I feel that the logo could do with some work on it. I like the idea of the nose as the "B" but it looks like "ne" and then a nose, rather than neb. Look into turning a b into a nose, rather than a nose into a b, dya get me?

3.Is the application easy to navigate?

Yes, simple and efficient.

4.Is the use of terminology, controls, graphics and menus consistent throughout the application?

Yes

5.Is there a consistent look and feel to the system interface?

Yes, the colours match, I would look into creating some nicer buttons.

6.Is the relationship between controls and their actions obvious? i.e 'need help?'

Yes, if I needed help, the first place I would go would definetley be the "need help section".

7.Does the system allow for a range of user expertise? Those who are more familar with this kind of platform and software and those who aren't.

Yes. the whole thing is self explanitary, I didn't get confused once. Best asking someone who is less computer literate for that answer though.

8.Is the design simple, intuitive, easy to learn and pleasing?

Yes, can't really elaborate, I still think it could be better though, bigger, nicer navigation etc.

9.Is the system free from irrelevant, unnecessary and distracting information?

Yes it is, I feel you could have more information on the page and it wouldn't be distracting.

10.Are you satisfied with the amount of clicks you need to do to get to the information you want?

Yes, everything is in three clicks but it is quite a small site so...
